What a blessing and a joy it was to have this team visit us from the Summit, our home church in North Carolina.
They helped us follow up with the students who attended the Connexion Conference.
Actually they did anything we asked them to do.
Most of all they just loved on us.
The whole gang with our regular students
During the time they were here the Muslim community was observing Ramadan...which is a religious feast where they observe fasting for the month of August from sunrise to sunset. Late afternoon food markets set up around town and they have delicious Malaysian food. We were fortunate enough to have a Ramadan market just a short trek down the street from us. So we enjoyed some delicious food
Daniel the team leader and pastor of the North Summit Campus enjoying a refreshing drink at the Ramadan Market
Wendy (in red and Daniel’s wife) had a blast playing the games....and she LIKES to WIN!!!
The balloons were attached to our ankles and we had to burst each other’s balloons
It seems like we were always eating. This is an outing on Sunday with some local students from Cornerstone Baptist Church....one of the churches we partner with here in KL
banana leaf eating...Indian food
Of course, the food is eaten with hands....so,yes, we did!
The banana leaf was our plate
Folding the leaf over indicates you are finished
A trip to another country is not complete without sightseeing:
fish spa
Batu Caves - An Indian Place of Worship
These coconuts were used in some sort of ceremony, the insides were on fire, then they were taken and thrown into this huge concrete vat and broken
Petronas Twin Towers
Thank you Daniel, Wendy, Jerusha, Kyle, Gabrielle, Cheryl, Jacque and Matt for coming and being such a blessing to us!
...til next time...
