Our Humble Abode

For those who have been wondering what our house looks like in Malaysia....this blog is for you!  We live in an area of Kuala Lumpur called Subang Jaya......it is located in a section called Petaling Jaya.  Our house is approximately 1500 sq feet.  Our home is part of a stretch of homes that are attached on the sides to each other.....in a stretch of probably 15 homes attached.  All the homes have gates at the road....cars are parked inside the gated area right up at the house.  The house is probably around 30 years old as are most of the houses in our little neighborhood.  Down the street to the right is a school.......to the left is an area of shoplets.  Our neighborhood has Chinese, Indians, Malays and international students.  Many of the houses are rented out to students who go to one of the many universities around us.  

Ready for a tour of our house and the neighborhood?

Welcome to our home!

The parking pad after we moved in.  The shoe rack we
found in a garbage pile on the road.  The pink piece
of furniture we got from next door.  It will be painted
and used as a buffet in our dining area

Living area.  We just painted the walls yellow.  It feels so
much more warm and inviting not having the stark white
walls with the white furniture!

you can see!  I, also, need to accessorize.  Wish I had some
of my friends here who are very good at that!!

Looks pretty lived in now, doesn’t it?  I use the
two toaster ovens more frequently than I use the
gas oven because the oven make the kitchen so
hot.  There is not any air conditioning in the
 kitchen area.

Bought two bottom kitchen cabinets from local
“walmart” putting them together so would
have an island area in the cooking part of the
kitchen.  The only problem is that the two pieces
had different colored tile on top!
whatcha gonna do?!?!

Our refrigerator is old and rusty but it does the trick.

I am not really sure what to do with this area...
maybe a potting area for plants...could fill it up
with potted plants and a table for 2...however really
no air ventilation so would be hot....could be a
BBQ area but grills are too expensive for us
to afford right now!
Any suggestions????

1st bedroom....no difference but a color change.  Don’t
make a surprise visit because we have no furniture.
Would love you to visit but need advance notice
to get some furniture.

2nd bedroom....same as the first...color change...
no furniture.

the color and the mirror

large...however no rooms
come with closets!

A woman has to have her own space.  This is where I
get “beautiful”.  Marching curtains to the other
window!

Master bath....I know you all are jealous!!

This is our shower area...and, yes, it is open
right into the toilet area.  To answer the
question I know you all are asking??
Yes, the tissue generally gets wet from
the shower water.
