We were so very fortunate to have David Story in Malaysia for most of the summer.
David is an American singer-songwriter with deep Indiana roots. He released his 1st album in 2007 and had since had 5 more.
David pours his life experiences into his craft. "In each song you can hear where he has been and where he is headed and makes you want to go there with him”
The previous statement is from his blog bio and it is absolutely true. He is a very versatile singer-songwriter and has an amazing range in his voice.
He did a concert at FBC Subang and, also, one at conneXion for the students.
I was blown away by his songwriting.
Thank you David for sharing your life, your craft and your experience in song with us while you were in this beautiful country!
The songs he shared at conneXion were old hymns. It was wonderful hearing the younger generation singing those old old hymns.
He,also, shared a message from God’s Word with the students.
The concert at FBC was all his own songs he had written. He took us around the world to places he had visited and that had inspired songs.
He sang secular and Christian songs with us....each one his own creation.
The night ended on a very unusual note. When ever you get students together you have to be prepared for the unexpected. This night was no different.
The African students wanted David to sing a song in an African language. He ended up singing a song from Lion King.....Hakuna Matata but the students quickly got into it and started singing songs in their language.
And, as usual, this kind of music cannot be sung without putting your whole body into it.....hence the conga line!!
like I said....you never know what to expect!
I will have to say fun was had by all!
