We're coming to the end!

We have for the last 9 weeks been in a very serene country setting training for the journey we are taking for the next 3 years. This place actually reminds me of Farmville (you know that game on Facebook!)

Friendships have been made that will last a lifetime.  We have been stretched beyond what we thought was our capacity to stretch.  In the process we have learned a lot about ourselves and the great big world out there.  For those familiar with the Myers Briggs personality test we found out that Pam is an ISFP and Dennis is an ISTJ.  We have been living in a quad that has 4 tiny apartments with a shared great room.  We share our quad with a single guy, a family with 5 children and a couple with a baby.

We have shared, laughed, talked, cried, prayed, watched movies, ate popcorn, played games, worked several puzzles and learned much about each other.  We all have one thing in common.......a God we love and live for.  My brothers and sisters in Christ.

We are now going our separate ways and may never see each other again on this side of heaven but I do know I will see them again in heaven.  A comforting thought.
Thankfully I do not have to cook in this kitchen!!!!

I have to mention 2 ladies who
have poured into my life these 9 weeks.  They are Kathy and Bobbie from Quad 32....fondly called the Quilting Quad.  They give selflessly of their time, knowledge, love, smiles, expertise and lives to help us who know nothing of quilting to make quilts.  They are quick to help us cover our "mistakes" so they actually enhance the quilt and not hinder its beauty.  They are remarkable and are here solely because they love Jesus and the people who are called to minister and love in His Name!  Thank you ladies for what you have imparted to me of being a servant!!!  Also, they let all ages and genders quilt.  Truly a ministry!!  Below are the quilts I made at the quilt quad with the help of Kathy and Bobbie.  I am looking forward to making more while in SE Asia.

Tim and I are getting sad to see you go, because you bring so much to our group and our friendship. But we are excited for you and all God will be doing through you in SEA. Looking forward to seeing you tonight at the Sarvises!

Kent and I are amazed at your continued commitment to do what God has called you to do. We are praying for you. None of us know where our journey in life will take us. We do not know who God will put in our paths to steer us in the right direction. But God has a plan and purpose for all of us. He is looking for willing hearts. Pam, you and Dennis are truly an inspiration to us, and we'll be forever thankful that God put you in our path. Much love from us goes with you.

Kent and Sheila
